A School Site Council (SSC) is a group of stakeholders within a school, composed of teachers, parents, school staff, and the principal. Its main role is to help shape, review, and monitor the school’s academic programs and overall improvement plan. The SSC plays a significant role in ensuring that school resources are allocated effectively to meet the needs of all students, especially with regard to budget decisions and program priorities.

IN ESSENCE, THE SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL FUNCTIONS AS A COLLABORATIVE BODY THAT SUPPORTS TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND SHARED RESPONSIBILITY, WHICH ARE ALL ESSENTIAL TO THE EFFECTIVE FUNCTIONING OF A SCHOOL.
